MOBILE, Ala. — Aircrews from Aviation Training Center (ATC) Mobile have been working around-the-clock since Hurricane Harvey struck last week.

ATC Mobile is where Coast Guard helicopter and fixed-wing pilots train. This location is serving as a staging area for various air and personnel assets coming from around the country to deploy where needed for rescue and recovery efforts.

Coast Guard assets nationwide are providing support in response to Hurricane Harvey. Since Monday, more than 18 logistics flights have flown out of ATC Mobile, transporting over 300 personnel and supplies to Houston, New Orleans, Port Arthur, Corpus Christi and Austin, Texas. Seventy-two pilots and crew members from ATC Mobile, along with other crews from Jacksonville, Mississippi; Miami, Clearwater, Florida; Cape Cod, Massachusetts; Savannah, Georgia; and Elizabeth City, New Jersey have flown out of ATC Mobile.   back...
