With an influx of wintering bald eagles in Arizona, winter is one of the best times to catch a glimpse of our nation's magnificent symbol of freedom. Join the Arizona Game and Fish Department's Pinetop office for its annual public workshop that includes a presentation on bald eagle natural history and a field experience led by biologists.

The free workshop will take place on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. and is appropriate for all ages. The classroom portion of the program will include a discussion of bald eagle life history, behavior patterns and the species' current population status in Arizona and North America. The presentation will be followed by an optional trip to a local lake to observe eagle behavior first-hand.

Participants are advised to dress appropriately for weather conditions for that day and to bring binoculars or a spotting scope for improved observation if they have them. Please call the Pinetop Game and Fish office at (928) 532-3680 to register. Registration is not required, but is appreciated to ensure proper staffing.   back...
