Residents and neighbors will join Councilman Daniel Valenzuela and Parks and Recreation Department staff to celebrate the Grand Reopening of El Oso Park, 75th Avenue and Osborn Road on April 13 at 9:30 a.m. Crews just completed renovating the 40-acre park, originally built in 1970. The newly renovated park now features:

- New playground with two play structures

- Connecting exercise paths and 400 shade trees

- Artificial soccer courts and turf soccer fields

- Baseball fields, basketball courts and sand volleyball courts

- An archery range and large gathering plaza

- Ornamental shade structure and ramadas

- An amphitheater and open play turf areas

- A new irrigation system and security lighting throughout the park

- New signage, drinking fountains, restrooms and parking lot
