The Arizona Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration are taking the next steps to select a preferred alternative for the proposed Loop 303 between Van Buren Street and the proposed State Route 30.

A public information meeting regarding the alternatives for the planned Loop 303 freeway segment south of Van Buren Street is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Copper Trails School, 16875 W. Canyon Trails Boulevard, Goodyear 85338. The public is encouraged to attend and provide input.

A formal presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. Representatives from ADOT and the project team will be available to answer questions and provide more information.

If approved, the Loop 303 would be constructed starting in 2020 as part of the Maricopa Association of Governments’ Regional Transportation Plan. The Loop 303 study schedule also calls for a public hearing on the draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Design Concept Report as well as the selection of a recommended alternative in spring 2018. The final EA and Design Concept Report are due for completion in summer 2018.

Those unable to attend the meeting can provide comments or ask questions by sending an email to projects@azdot.gov or by calling 1.855.712.8530. Written comments also can be mailed to ADOT Communications, 1655 W. Jackson St., Mail Drop 126F, Phoenix, Arizona 85007. All comments must be provided by Jan. 5, 2018, to be included in the project record.
