Public information/ scoping meeting will address traffic needs and current Environmental Assessment

The Arizona Department of Transportation will host a public information and scoping meeting regarding transportation needs and the current environmental study of Interstate 10 (Maricopa Freeway) between the Interstate 17 in Phoenix (Split) and the Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) in Chandler.

The public is encouraged to attend, learn more about the Environmental Assessment currently taking place to study traffic concerns in the area, provide input and discuss potential improvements that are being considered.

Potential improvements could include: an additional general purpose lane, and/or high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane; a collector-distributor (local traffic lanes) road system; substantial modifications of the I-10/State Route 143/Broadway Road connections and the I-10/US 60 (Superstition Freeway) connection; and other related work.

The meeting will be an open-house format with a presentation scheduled for 6 p.m.:

When: Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019

Where: Rio Salado College Conference Center, 2323 W. 14th St., Tempe, AZ 85281

Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (presentation at 6 p.m.)

Who: Representatives from ADOT’s I-10 Broadway Curve Study Team will be available to listen to comments and answer questions.
