Burton Barr Central Library, located at 1221 N. Central Ave., will host “An Afternoon with Rhys Bowen and Charles Todd” 12 – 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014.

Bowen is the New York Times bestselling author of the Royal Spyness series, Molly Murphy mysteries, and Constable Evans mystery series. She has won the Agatha Award for Best Novel and been nominated for the Edgar Award for Best Novel. She will be discussing “City of Darkness and Light,” the 13th novel in the Molly Murphy series.

Charles Todd is the New York Times bestselling mother-and-son writing team of Charles and Caroline Todd. They write the Inspector Ian Rutledge mystery series set in post-World War I England and the Bess Crawford series about an amateur sleuth/nurse serving in France during World War I. Caroline Todd will discuss “A Question of Honor,” the latest in the Bess Crawford series.

The program is presented in partnership with The Poisoned Pen. Both authors will sign books following the talk. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
