Drivers should plan for detours through fall

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the temporary full closure of two Texas Hill bridges located on East County First Street north of Roll beginning Monday, April 16.

The bridges are scheduled to be closed for the next several months. Drivers should plan to use detour routes and allow extra travel time while these closures are in place:

The bridge near Avenue 49 ½ E will be closed in both directions.
The bridge near Avenue 54E will be closed in both directions.
Drivers traveling east or west of the bridges should follow posted detour signs.

Yuma County is scheduled to reconstruct both bridges. Completion of the project is scheduled in fall 2018.

Drivers should slow down, obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices, and use caution around construction personnel and equipment.

Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors. For more information, please call the ADOT Project Information Line at 855.712.8530 or email Projects@azdot.gov.
