FBI Houston Seeks 'Cougar Campus Crook' for Armed Bank Robbery
Up to $5,000 Cash Reward HOUSTON, TX—The FBI Violent Crime Task Force and the University of Houston Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a man, dubbed the “Cougar Campus Crook,” who robbed a Texas Dow Employees Credit Union (TDECU) in Houston, Texas. Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the robber. The robbery occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the TDECU located at 4455 University Drive on the University of Houston’s campus. During the robbery, the suspect entered the bank, displayed a black handgun, and handed the teller a note demanding cash. In fear for their life, the teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect, who then fled the bank on foot. No one was physically hurt during the robbery. The robber is described as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 6’2” tall, with a medium build and an unkempt goatee. During the robbery, he wore a dark-colored Houston Astros baseball cap, a black hooded sweater, white shoes, and carried a large black Puma duffel bag. Crime Stoppers of Houston, a non-governmental organization, is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of this robber.
