Laredo, Texas On October 10, Laredo North agents assigned to the Border Patrol checkpoint located on Interstate Highway 35 encountered a 2008 Blue Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by a 55-year-old U.S. Citizen from Waco, Texas, at the primary inspection lane. A canine alerted to the tractor-trailer which was subsequently referred to secondary inspection during which an x-ray scan of the vehicle showed anomalies in an aftermarket compartment. Agents performed a physical inspection of the false compartment and discovered several bundles encased in cellophane wrapping that tested positive for marijuana. The contraband weighed 3,015.92 pounds and has a street value of $2,412,736. The narcotics, vehicle and subject were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
