Hug Your Mom!

It's amazing what we take for granted. As I was writing this column, I received a phone call that my mother was in intensive care in the Valley. The little day-to-day worries seemed trivial by comparison. I remember thinking about calling her Sunday morning and then realizing that she had already left for work. It was late that afternoon when I discovered my mom was rushed to the emergency room instead.
Mother's Day is next month - just a short time away. As of this writing, we don't know what's wrong with my mom - only that it's serious. I hope and pray that she will be here for another day celebrated in her honor and in the honor of moms' everywhere. Please don't wait to tell your mom you love her! Put this paper down and call her right now, or find her and hug her tight. Let her know how much you appreciate all that she does for you. You may not get a second chance!
I expected the building in Globe to be open in February. What is they say about "best laid plans?" Alas, I neglected to take into consideration things like the approaching tax season (imagine that - forgetting, or trying to forget about owing money to Uncle Sam).
I've also added more information to the website in the Hiking Arizona section. It includes a great section on the Arizona Trail, a 720-mile trek through the state, as well as an overview of the trail, history and online descriptions of the 43 segments, all courtesy of The Arizona trail Association.
Speaking of the website, you might want to check out all the snow pictures from our last snow storm. Until next issue . . . take care.
