If the feature article in this issue, the capture of a child molester by U.S. Marshals and Lake Havasu police, and a peek into a week at DPS activities are any indication, law enforcement officials have been working overtime.
The numbers from our front page story, "drugs with estimated value of $11.9 million - $45 million in cash and 18 tons of illegal drugs," absolutely boggles the mind. Our website features numerous photos from this joint effort of numerous agencies.
Speaking of joint efforts, a number of folks have spent the last two years making preparations for Globe's Centennial Celebration. This issue includes an overview of all the fun-filled events which will take place over a 10 day period, beginning on Friday, March 23. Hope to see you all there.
On the subject of places to be, Roosevelt Lake has a great forecast in its future. Apache Lake is nearly full and Roosevelt is on the rise. Arizona Game and Fish has given us great news concerning the forecast for this year and many upcoming years. According to the latest report, "The outlook for Roosevelt is exciting. At the current snow pack level and expected runoff, the lake level at Rosy is guaranteed to flood vast areas of thick brush. The spawn will once again be tremendous. If we get even more snow pack and run off. . . well, the potential boggles the mind. I feel confident Rosy is going to be the best bass fishery in the entire West for the next several years (or possibly the next decade) if severe drought doesn't return. That 12-pounder caught two weeks ago wasn't a fluke." Lots of goods things in store - Until next issue . . . take care.
