The Tempe homicide has been connected by forensic evidence but the suspect that Tempe has in custody, for that homicide, has been excluded from being involved in the Baseline Killer case.
The three robbery incidents at 2950 N 32nd St, listed below as numbers 10, 11, and 12, have officially been forensically linked to the six homicides.
Original Information
The Phoenix Police Department is investigating a series of violent crimes involving robberies, sexual assaults, and homicides.
Investigators have been working with victims and witnesses to develop composites for release to the public. The attached composites depict a possible unknown suspect and a person of interest. The suspect(s) is believed to use disguises and change his appearance. The suspect(s) is still unknown. The composites were composed by our expert, based on witness and victim accounts from several of the incidents that are believed to possibly be related:
Number 1 is the original composite sent out that depicts a possible suspect from a robbery that occurred on 11/03/05 at Cupids Toy Box at 4019 N. 32nd Street. That has not changed since its original release.
Number 2 is a composite of a possible suspect from a robbery that occurred on 11/07/05 at Las Brazas Mexican Grill. In this composite only the hat, hair, and shape of head are depictions of the possible suspect.
Number 3 is a composite of a person of interest seen in the area of the carjacking/sexual assault that occurred on 5/01/06 at 2950 N. 32nd Street. Only the hairstyle is an accurate depiction in this composite. Investigators need to locate and speak to this person of interest. Anyone that recognizes a black male adult with that type of hairstyle from the area of 32nd Street and Thomas Road, on that date is asked to call Silent Witness.
The following is a list of criminal incidents that may be related. They have similarities based on description of the suspect and method of operation. In order to maintain the integrity of these cases other details of these investigations will not be released at this time.
We are extremely concerned with the serious and violent nature of these offenses and its effect on the community. Investigators are working very diligently on these cases and treating them with priority. Some of these incidents have been covered in the media.
It will take some time and collaborative effort to compare the investigative information from these cases to establish whether or not they are linked. We do not yet have the evidence necessary to definitively link all of these cases, but want to make the public aware of these crimes and what appear to be some similarities.
We will provide you with further details as they become available. Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness.
