Investigation on-going for remaining kidnap victims
Laredo, Texas, - D. True Brown, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the San Antonio Division of the FBI, announced that at approximately 2:30 pm on November 29, kidnap victim David Mueller was returned safely to the United States. Mueller was released during the early morning hours of November 29, 2006. Preliminary interview of Mueller has revealed that he was roughly handled by his captors; however, his injuries did not require hospitalization.
The investigation is on-going into the whereabouts and safety of the remaining kidnap victims, 49 year old Librado Pina Jr., and his son, 25 year old Librado Pina III, both of Laredo, Texas. The FBI continues to receive aggressive assistance from Mexican Law Enforcement authorities participating in the newly formed Bi-National Kidnapping Task Force.
