SCOTTSDALE, AZ The Arizona Diamondbacks featured world renowned entertainer and comedian, Mr. Bill Cosby as the headline entertainment for the 3rd annual Evening on the Diamond event benefitting The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation.
Bill Cosby is one of the most influential performers of the 20th century, entertaining sold-out crowds for four decades, the best selling comedian of all time on records, and has sold millions of books, but he is most famous for his unparalleled career in television including I Spy in the 1960s and The Cosby Show in the 1980s.
Participating in the Diamondbacks Evening on the Diamond event was a natural for Mr. Cosby as he has supported numerous charities, particularly in the field of education in his quest to endow Americans with the gift of hope and learning. With the help of Mr. Cosby, the Evening on the Diamond Event raised $1.1 million. The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation has donated more than $14.5 million to non-profit organizations and communities throughout Arizona since its inception in 1997. The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation focuses its efforts on three main areas of need: homelessness, indigent healthcare, and childrens programs of all types, including education and youth baseball field development.
