The Sedona International Film Festival has chosen Jake' Corner as one of its Showcase films for the 2008 festival, February 27- March 2. Set and filmed in the majestic high desert of Arizona, by Arizona filmmaker Jeff Santo, Jake's Corner is a heart-wrenching film about loss, healing and hope. The film features original songs by Grammy Award winning singer BJ Thomas, a moving southwestern score by Steve Dorff, and numerous Arizona actors, including newcomer Colton Rodgers. A former Heisman trophy winner and NFL star, who had moved far away from the spotlight after a family tragedy, is now forced to care for his young nephew after the boy's parents are killed. The uncle is unwilling to tell the boy the truth about his parents' death. He brings the boy to the high desert town of Jake's Corner and enlists the townfolk to keep his secret. Jake's Corner is a lively rest stop for travelers making their way through the desert, but for the people who live there, it's a rest stop for life. Over the years, the eclectic ensemble that occupies the town have become like family to each other. The boy brings an innocence and energy to this town of adults who, in turn, share their humor and wisdom with him. As the weeks pass, the uncle must make some difficult decisions as his life begins to unravel.
