United States Marshals Arrest New York Man Charged with Murder in Casa Grande

Casa Grande, AZ Darshan Williams was arrested after a two day man hunt lead by deputy U.S. Marshals. Earlier last month, Williams allegedly shot and killed another gang member in Schenectady, NY. On November 11, 2005 an arrest warrant was issued for Williams charging him with murder in the 2nd degree. Williams was one of New York State's 100 Most Wanted Fugitives.
On December 27, 2005, deputy U.S. Marshals in Albany, NY alerted the Phoenix office that Williams was hiding out in Arizona. On December 29, 2005, at approximately 4:30 pm, deputy U.S. Marshals and deputies from the Pinal County Sheriff's Office arrested Williams without incident at a duplex in Casa Grande, AZ.
United States Marshal David Gonzales praised the work of deputies, "The hard work and dedication in this investigation made it possible to get one more murderer off the streets today.
"Williams' criminal history includes arrests for assault, forgery, and DUI. Williams will be booked at the Maricopa County 4th Avenue Jail where he will await extradition to New York.
