Flagstaff, AZ At the request of the Coconino County Sheriffs office, a multi agency task force called Arizona WANTED (Warrant Apprehension Network and Targeted Enforcement Detail), administered by the U.S. Marshals Service, located and arrested Alejandro Estrada Sotelo on August 8 at about 3:30 pm in Phoenix Arizona. The Marshals Service worked in a close partnership with Coconino County Sheriffs Detectives to coordinate this apprehension effort. Arizona WANTED task force members who assisted with the investigation and subsequent arrest included officers from the Phoenix Police Department, Arizona Department of Public Safety, Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Surprise Police Department. Task force members received information that Sotelo was possibly in a residence located at 23rd Street and Cactus in Phoenix. Task force members conducted covert surveillance of the residence. Based on probable cause that was developed and the existence of the arrest warrant issued by the Coconino County Superior Court, task force members entered the structure and located Sotelo who was hiding in a bathroom. The suspect resisted arrest and task force members used necessary physical force to safely take him into custody. Phoenix Police Officers transported Sotelo to a Maricopa County Detention Facility where he was booked on one count of Possession of Cocaine and the outstanding warrant from Coconino County charging him with 3 counts of Sexual Conduct with a Minor under the Age of 15 and 3 counts of kidnapping a Minor under the Age of 15. Coconino County Sheriff Bill Pribil praised the quick actions of task force members and the Coconino County Sheriffs Office Detectives saying, Interagency cooperation in this investigation and apprehension is a fine example of local, state and federal law enforcement officers working together to identify and apprehend outstanding fugitives. United States Marshal David Gonzales, District of Arizona, praised the work of everyone involved, adding, The United States Marshals Service will travel into the smallest towns and largest cities to arrest fugitives.
