CBP Border Patrol agents apprehend sexual predator

Deming, New Mexico U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Border Patrol Agents assigned to the Deming, New Mexico station arrested a Citizen of Mexico on Sunday, July 10, 2011 with an extensive criminal history, including felony possession of marijuana and a conviction on Indecent Contact with a Child in the State of Texas. The 50-year-old sex offender was arrested by Border Patrol agents after he crossed illegally into the United States from Mexico, near Columbus, N.M. Manual Arturo Garcia-Valenzuela admitted to agents that he entered the United States illegally. During his processing, it was revealed that Garcia-Valenzuela had an extensive history of committing crimes, including charges and convictions of Indecent Contact with a Child, Possession of Cocaine, Felony possession of Marijuana, and Aggravated Battery. Garcia-Valenzuela had been removed from the United States on at least six prior occasions. He is currently being detained in Luna County, pending criminal court proceedings for his unlawful re-entry into the United States.
