Confirmation of Social Security tax hikes, benefit cuts in Mitchell supported plan Scottsdale, AZ The plan Harry Mitchell supports for Social Security today earned him the title of payroll taxer from the Wall Street Journal. Mitchell supported the AARP plan that balances additional contributions from high income workers with modest adjustments in future benefits¦. According to the Journal, in Washington ˜additional contributions means a tax increase. And by ˜high income workers, AARP can only mean anyone earning more than $94,200. The Journal then goes on to discuss a mailing the nonpartisan AARP sent out on behalf of candidates who supported their position to raise taxes and attacking their opponents for pointing out the truth of the AARP plan. According to the Journal, AARP was hoping to use its candidate survey to nail down enough support to raise taxes on Social Sercurity¦. Harry Mitchells fraud has been exposed, said Hayworth campaign spokesman Brian Hummell. His support for higher Social Security taxes is now clear and undeniable. It is equally clear that Mitchells plan would hurt workers, employers, and the economy. Thats not the way to save Social Security.
