ASP Kingman Escapees Task Force Seeking Public's Assistance in Apprehension of McCluskey & Welch

Phoenix, Ariz. The ASP Kingman Escapees Task Force continues to ask for the publics vigilance and assistance in the apprehension of McCluskey and Welch. Continued assistance of the media is critical for the purpose of both public safety and public information. A reward of up to $35,000 remains available for information leading to the arrests of McCluskey and Welch.
McCluskey and Welch have worked as over the road truck drivers and are comfortable utilizing truck stops along the interstate highway system for showers, eating, etc. They may be sleeping at or near campgrounds or other remote locations. Particular awareness of the general public is necessary in these areas. It is believed they are still driving the 1997 Nissan Sentra sedan (gold, grey, or tan in color). The Sentra originally bore Arizona license plate 620 PFV, however, the plate may have been switched.
All information indicates McCluskey and Welch continue to travel together and should be considered armed and extremely dangerous. As the manhunt continues, it is highly possible they will become more desperate, creating increased danger to law enforcement and the general public. If they are encountered, call local law enforcement immediately.
Task Force personnel continue to focus investigative efforts in western Montana and the border with Canada in the northwestern United States. Additionally, the task force continues to methodically review and evaluate all information received to date. Lookouts and alerts remain in place with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in the northwestern United States and law enforcement authorities in southwestern Canada. Task Force investigative efforts could not corroborate McCluskey and Welch's involvement in the August 11th armed robbery at the Kut and Kurl in Gentry, Ark. McCluskey and Welchs known ties to the area require continued follow up.
McCluskeys mother, Claudia Washburn remains in custody on a $250,000 bond, charged in Maricopa County, Ariz. Superior Court with conspiracy to commit escape (second degree) and hindering prosecution (first degree) in the July 30, 2010 escape from ASP Kingman.
The last credible sighting of McCluskey and Welch was August 6, 2010 in Billings Montana. As previously released, both McCluskey and Welch have altered their appearances. It is believed McCluskey has dyed his hair dark and grown a beard and Welch may have blonde hair.
