Kaibeto, AZ The U.S. Marshals Service AZ WANTED Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force teamed up with the Navajo Nation Tribal PD and the Navajo Nation Criminal Investigators Office to arrest Utahs Most Wanted, Public Enemy Number One, 26 year old Rodrick Dejolie.
On August 31, 2010, the Taylorsville Police Department, Salt Lake County, Utah issued a warrant charging Rodrick Dejolie with First Degree Felony Homicide. The United States Marshals Service issued an Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution Warrant (UFAP) also on August 31, 2010. It is alleged that Dejolie, along with another individual, forced entry into a residence, put two men down on the ground and shot one man in the back of the head killing him. The second suspect eventually was arrested in Farmington, NM.
The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) developed information that Dejolie might be hiding out at a family members residence with his girlfriend and two children. Early this morning, Law Enforcement located the residence northeast of Kaibeto, AZ. Upon arriving at the residence, a female attempted to obstruct the investigation by trying to padlock the front door of the house. Deputy Marshals and Tribal Law Enforcement quickly determined Dejolie was in the residence and a search was conducted. Dejolie was subsequently located hiding in a bathroom in the back of the house. Dejolie was taken into custody by Deputy Marshals without further incident. The female, Zandra Tsinnijinnie was taken into custody by Tribal Law Enforcement and charged with obstruction.
United States Marshal David Gonzales praised the work of Utah and Arizona law Enforcement, stating, When it comes to identifying suspects, locating and arresting them, there are no better partners than the U.S. Marshals Service and Local law Enforcement. We all have one goal taking the criminals off the street to ensure the safety of our community.ÂÂÂ
Rodrick Dejolie was transported to the Coconino County Jail where he will await extradition to Utah.
