The Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) improvement project in the East Valley will require the following closures or lane restrictions. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes while the following freeway restrictions are in place:

Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) on-ramp at Alma School Road closed from 10 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 8) to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 9) for widening project.

McKellips Road closed at Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) from 10 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 8) to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 9) for widening project. Detour: Drivers can use Alma School and Country Club Drive as alternate routes.

Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) on-ramp at Country Club Drive closed from 10 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 8) to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 9) for widening project.

Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) narrowed to three lanes at Dobson Road from 10 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 8) to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 9) for widening project.

Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) ramp to northbound and southbound Loop 101 closed from 10 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 8) to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 9) for widening project. Detour: Drivers can use Dobson Road as an alternate route.

Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) on-ramp at Dobson Road closed from 10 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 8) to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 9) for widening project.

Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) on and off-ramps at Country Club Drive closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 9), Thursday (Sept. 10) and Friday (Sept. 11) for widening project.

Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) narrowed to three lanes in both directions between Alma School and Dobson roads from 10 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 9) to 5 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 10) for widening project.

Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) on-ramp at Country Club Drive closed from 10 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 10) to 5 a.m. Friday (Sept. 11) for widening project.

Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) narrowed to three lanes between Alma School and McKellips roads from 10 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 10) to 5 a.m. Friday (Sept. 11) for widening project.

Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) closed between Country Club Drive and Loop 101 from 10 p.m. Friday (Sept. 11) to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 14) for rubberized asphalt paving. Detour: Drivers can use McDowell Road, Rio Salado Parkway and University Drive as alternate routes.

Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) closed between Greenfield and McDowell roads from 9 p.m. Monday (Sept. 14) to 5 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 15) for overhead sign installation. Detour: Drivers can use McDowell Road as an alternate route.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned freeway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. The Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) improvement project is adding one new general travel lane in each direction between Loop 101 and Gilbert Road and one High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane in each direction between Gilbert and Broadway roads.
