Crews will work on on-and-off-ramps at Rock Springs and Table Mesa roads this week

Drivers traveling overnight on Interstate 17 who plan to use the on- and off-ramps at Table Mesa or Rock Springs roads will need to plan for extra travel time this week for paving work.

The overnight paving work is part of an ongoing pavement-improvement project on Interstate 17 between New River and Coldwater roads. Work hours are from 6:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly.

The following restrictions are scheduled (weather permitting) this week:

Tuesday, March 7:

Southbound I-17 off-ramp at Table Mesa Road closed; drivers will need to use New River Road and northbound I-17 as an alternate route.
Southbound I-17 off-ramp at Rock Springs closed; drivers will need to use Coldwater Road [RH1] as an alternate route.

Wednesday, March 8:

Northbound I-17 off-ramp at Rock Springs Road closed; drivers will need to use Coldwater Road as an alternate route.

Southbound I-17 off-ramp at Rock Springs closed; drivers will need to use Coldwater Road [RH2] as an alternate route.

The $10.8 million project includes the removal of a layer of the existing pavement and application of a new layer of smooth, quiet rubberized asphalt. The project is scheduled to be completed by summer 2017.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.   back...
