PHOENIX -- Central Sound at Eight, as part of its commitment as the central hub for notable music events in Phoenix and Arizona, is airing four holiday programs in partnership with KBAQ 89.5 FM and on Eight Classical, digital TV channel 8.4. All four programs are part of Central Sound’s weekly series “Southwest Season Ticket” and “ASU in Concert” that air at 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings respectively, exclusively on KBAQ-FM 89.5 FM, online at http://www.kbaq.org and on Eight KAET-TV Digital Channel 8.4.

Canadian Brass in concert on “Southwest Season Ticket” Dec. 23 at 8 p.m. on KBAQ and Eight Classic 8.4. The holiday programming begins on Dec. 16 at 8 p.m. as special guests The Romero Guitar Quartet (http://www.romeroguitarquartet.com), known as the “The Royal Family of the Guitar,” fill the air with Christmas classics, and the evening will be rounded out with local performances from the Phoenix Children’s Chorus (http://www.phoenixchildrenschorus.org), the Phoenix Girls Chorus (http://www.girlschorus.org) and other local ensembles.

On Dec. 23 at 8 p.m. on “Southwest Season Ticket,” Canadian Brass performs a special holiday program at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, featuring a variety of holiday standards, including:

“Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming”

“O Tannenbaum”

“Christmas Time Is Here”

“Frosty the Snowman”

“Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”

Also featured this holiday season are two “ASU in Concert” holiday programs, airing on Thursdays at 8 p.m., Dec. 18 and 25. These broadcast events highlight holiday music from Arizona State University’s School of Music choral ensembles, ASU Symphony Orchestra, and the ASU Organ Department.
