The following actions are occurring today:

• Monitor, patrol, and improve lines along the southern and western flank to provide increased>
• Prepare contingencies for the possibility of the fire moving north towards Roosevelt and east towards the Pinto Mine along Pinto Canyon. Incorporate natural terrain features as barriers. Use burnouts and existing black lines to divert fire from values at risk, such as Reavis Ranch, Roosevelt, and mining operations.

The Woodbury Fire is now 6% contained! This occurred on the southern portion of the fire near Forest Road 172. Fire fighters continue to make progress on the Woodbury Fire despite low humidity and temperatures over the century mark. The following actions are occurring today:

 Continue to improve lines where possible along the southern and western flank to further protect the communities of Apache Junction, Gold Canyon, and Queen Valley.

 Continuation of protective actions for the apple orchard at Reavis Ranch as well as nearby Mexican spotted owl habitat.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has charged KPMG LLP with altering past audit work after receiving stolen information about inspections of the firm that would be conducted by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). The SEC’s order also finds that numerous KPMG audit professionals cheated on internal training exams by improperly sharing answers and manipulating test results.

KPMG agreed to settle the charges by paying a $50 million penalty and complying with a detailed set of undertakings, including retaining an independent consultant to review and assess the firm’s ethics and integrity controls and its compliance with various undertakings.

Mustafa al-Imam, a Libyan national approximately 48 years old, was found guilty of terrorism charges for his participation in the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. Special Mission and Annex in Benghazi, Libya. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and U.S. government personnel Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty died in the attack at the Mission and the nearby Annex in Benghazi.

Today: As hot weather continues and humidity drops in the coming week, firefighters will continue to build on their previous accomplishments. Retardant drops conducted Sunday on the southwest side of the fire will be followed up with additional line establishment and helicopter work. This will be used to tie into previously burned areas and block further fire movement in that direction. This will strengthen protection for State and private lands, including the Quarter Circle Ranch and local communities.

The Department of Justice has reached settlements with CBS Corporation (CBS), Cox Enterprises Inc. (Cox), The E.W. Scripps Company (Scripps), Fox Corporation (Fox), and TEGNA Inc. (TEGNA) to resolve a Department lawsuit brought as part of its ongoing investigation into exchanges of competitively sensitive information in the broadcast television industry.
