The rainfall from this season is leaving nothing to chance when it comes to filling Roosevelt Lake. Arizona was inundated in many areas with copious rainfall over several weekends, which saw Rosy rise from 62% on January 27 to 65% on January 28 to 72% on January 29 and then to 76% on January 31. The latest figures put Roosevelt at 76% and still rising. The community of Roosevelt is looking at another banner year as its economy sees a huge boost as tourists visit this fabulous recreation area.

Good news continues as the movie, Jakes Corner, has been accepted to the Sedona International Film Festival as one of its Showcase films for the 2008 festival, February 27- March 2.

Many of you may remember when the cast and crew were filming last summer. The Sedona Film Festival has accepted 135 films, among them, Helen Hunt's directorial debut. B.J. Thomas, who also plays "Doc" in the movie has written the theme song, which can be heard on the website at www.jakescornerthemovie.com/. Turn up the volume on your computer and while listening to B.J. sing the song, you'll see clips from the movie, which is slated for theaters this year. Look for more updates in this publication.

Congressman Rick Renzi has secured funding for Gila County projects, including $195,000, which will be used to directly support the Registered Nursing Program at Gila Community College; $100,000 for the Globe Courthouse to help restore historic structures; and $100,000 for the Miami Housing Project.
