We just can't stop talking about this year's copious rainfall amounts and now, the runoff from all of the snow in the White Mountains. At last check, Roosevelt Lake was at 93% and rising. According to Rory Aikens with Arizona Game and Fish, "The true headline should read: THEY ARE CATCHING CRAPPIES AT ROOSEVELT! For all you crappie anglers, the wait is over, you can now quit reading this report, grab your ultra lights and go." Warmer temperatures, coupled with the full moon on March 21 and warmer nights should have Roosevelt Lake soon "soaring into prime lake temperatures."

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has provided the latest snowpack measurements, which show "154 percent of the 30-year average, compared with 71 percent a year ago."

Tonto Basin residents no longer have to drive to Payson for their banking needs with the recent opening of National Bank of Arizona in Tonto Basin Marketplace. The area just keeps growing.

In order to keep up with all the new growth, both locally and statewide, we are still implementing some expansion changes of our own, including a new name for this publication. It's been what seems like a long process, however, I think the final result will be quite pleasing to all our readers.
