Rock Hill Man Indicted for Threatening the President

COLUMBIA, S.C. — A federal grand jury in Columbia returned a two-count indictment, presented by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, charging John Alexander Bellue, 32, of Rock Hill, for threatening the President of the United States and for interstate communication of a threat to injure. The indictment alleges that on Sept. 7, 2025, Bellue posted the following threat to the President on the social media platform X: “@realDonaldTrump you have the right to remain silent, I’m gonna kill you in the most brutal way possible.” Bellue faces a maximum penalty of not more than five years’ imprisonment and a fine not to exceed $250,000. His arraignment date has not been scheduled yet.
