Congressman John Moolenaar - Supporting Rural Health Care
Ensuring Michigan families have access to quality health care close to home is a priority of mine in Congress. This is especially important in rural communities, where hospitals and healthcare providers can face workforce shortages, rising costs, and other challenges. Earlier this year, I introduced the Rural Access to Anesthesiology Act, which would help rural hospitals recruit and pay physician anesthesiologists, and give rural patients the best care if they need surgery. Last month, the bill was passed unanimously in committee. I will continue working to support rural healthcare providers and advance policies that help ensure they have the resources they need to serve their communities. Access to quality care should not depend on where you live. Visiting Ionia Dialysis That commitment to rural health care recently took me to Ionia Dialysis to meet with patients and the dedicated healthcare professionals who provide life sustaining care in the community. Seeing their work was a valuable opportunity to learn more about the challenges facing dialysis patients and the importance of ensuring they have access to quality care close to home. I also discussed the RESTORE Act, legislation I have co-sponsored that would strengthen protections for dialysis patients. I will continue working to support policies that help patients receive the care they need. Helping Michigan Seniors Helping seniors navigate the federal government is an important part of my work in Congress. My team works directly with seniors who are experiencing problems with Social Security, Medicare, the IRS, and other federal agencies. We have helped thousands of seniors cut through bureaucratic red tape and recovered millions of dollars owed to them. If you or a family member is having trouble with a federal agency, my offices are here to help. As always, thank you for the opportunity to represent you in Congress. I will continue working to support Michigan families, strengthen our communities, and put America first.
