Last week was a startling one for Hollywood, as well as the rest of the country. The death of Farrah Fawcett, although not unexpected was indeed sad for one who died so young. Two other deaths, one of prominently known icon Michael Jackson and that of well-known TV commercial spokesperson, Billy Mays on Sunday morning, both dead at age 50, shocked the world.

At the very least, I think it makes many of us stop and examine our own mortality and consider what legacy we might leave behind with those who know us. Something to consider. The hot weather has arrived with a capital H. Monsoon season is just around the corner and while I cant remember the official start date, I am certainly ready for it after a week of temperatures over 100 degrees.

Let me clarify! When referring to monsoon season, I dont mean the blowing dust and lightning without the rain, but rather that cooling, cleansing, refreshing (a better definition for CCR) rain that clears the air and cools temperatures down to a pleasant tolerable range.

Speaking of monsoon season, Arizonans generally expected to see it start right around the Fourth of July. Since Independence Day is celebrated this coming Saturday, I thought I would pass along the following, which was recently emailed to me.

We must never forget who gets the credit for the freedoms we have, of which we should be eternally grateful.

Enjoy Your Freedom and God Bless Our Troops!

Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our servicemen. Of all the gifts you could give a U.S. soldier, prayer is the very best one.

I hope each and every one of you have a fabulous Fourth of July holiday.

Until next issue . . .
