Arizona State Fair Concert Series Attracts 15 Big Acts

Phoenix, Arizona The Coliseum will be rocking this fall with big name acts performing in the 2012 Arizona State Fair Concert Series. The Concert Series line-up features an eclectic mix of rock, pop, country, rap, and hip hop recording stars, including Adam Lambert, John Fogerty, Weezer, The Mavericks, and Prince Royce. Country music stars Billy Currington, Jerrod Nieman and Jana Kramer are slated to perform, as well as Janes Addiction, Karmin. Korn, Sublime with Rome, and Zendaya. Old School Jam will return with high energy performances by Midnight Star, Ready for the World, Club Nouveau/Timex Social Club, Shannon, Connie, and Stacey Q. In addition, the Derby Dames will provide their own brand of sweet sounds with the whirring of wheels and crunching of bodies in their ferocious roller derby match. The Coliseum will no doubt be packed with excitement-fueled fans throughout the Fairs run.
The 2012 all-star line up includes the following confirmed concert dates and times:
¢ Billy Currington Sat., Oct. 13 at 7:00 pm, Reserved Seating $20
o Nashville heartthrob Billy Currington has sold millions of albums and garnered ten Top 10 hits, including Pretty Good At Drinkin Beer, Thats How Country Boys Roll, People Are Crazy, ÂÂÂDont, Must Be Doin Somethin Right and Good Directions. He has honed his trademark mix of country, R&B, and beach music while on previous tours with Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, and Sugarland.
¢ Weezer Sun., Oct. 14 at 7:00 pm, Reserved Seating $20
o Alternative rock band Weezer has been entertaining audiences for two decades with their chic geek, unconventional style.
¢ Adam Lambert Wed., Oct. 17 at 7:00 pm, Reserved Seating $20
o American Idol alum Adam Lambert continues to rocket to fame with his exciting mix of theatrics and glam in his pop performances.
¢ The Mavericks Thurs., Oct. 18 at 7:00 pm, Reserved Seating $15
o The Mavericks band members, Raul Malo, Robert Reynolds, Paul Deakin, and Eddie Perez, have reunited to share their unique Nashville sound flavored by Latin rhythms and rock.
¢ John Fogerty Fri., Oct. 19 at 7:00 pm, Reserved Seating $20
o American rock legend John Fogerty, formerly of Creedence Clearwater Revival fame, continues to amaze fans with his musical magic.
¢ Nas Sat., Oct. 20 at 7:00 pm, Reserved Seating $20
o Poet and rhyme master Nas is always controversial and uncompromising in his role as hip-hops most influential MC, and has completed his first new studio album in four years, LIFE IS GOOD.
¢ Prince Royce Sun., October 21 at 5:00 pm, Reserved Seating $15
o Prince Royce is quickly building a reputation as one of the most talented young voices in Latin pop. In two short years, the singer has sold out two tours of Europe and the U.S. and become one of the biggest stars in contemporary Latin music.
¢ Janes Addiction Wed., Oct. 24 at 7:00 pm, Reserved Seating $20
o The Los Angeles-based quartet Janes Addiction, fronted by Lollapalooza founder Peter Farrell, merge rock and alternative to create a distinctive sound and attitude.
¢ Karmin Thurs. Oct. 25 at 7:00 pm, Reserved Seating $15
o The up-and-coming duo known as Karmin, Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan, combine pop and hip hop to create an exhilarating rush of high energy sounds.
¢ Jerrod Niemann/Jana Kramer Fri., Oct. 26 at 7:00 pm, Reserved Seating $15
o Country music fans will be thrilled with performances by these two exciting artists. One of Nashvilles newest stars, Kramer is also known for her roles on One Tree Hill, Entourage, Friday Night Lights

o The only banked track roller derby league in Arizona brings a taste of the full-contact, action-packed bouts of season 8. The Runaway Brides face the Brutal Beauties in a ferocious fight to place high enough to make it to the season championship.
¢ Sublime with Rome Thurs., Nov. 1 at 7:00 pm, Reserved Seating $20
o Sublime with Rome teams up Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh of ska-punk band Sublime and vocalist/guitarist Rome Ramirez. Collaborating since 2009, the trio released their debut album, Yours Truly, this summer.

General admission seating at the concerts is free with Fair admission on a first- come, first-served basis the day of the show. The 128th annual Arizona State Fair, running from October 12 to November 4 (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays), hosts a variety of fun-filled attractions, activities and rides for all ages at its traditional location at 19th Avenue and McDowell Road in Phoenix.
