WASHINGTON — President Donald J. Trump declared a crime emergency in the nation's capital today and vowed to make its streets safe again for both residents and visitors.
"Washington, D.C., should be one of the safest, cleanest and most beautiful cities anywhere in the world, and we're going to make it that," Trump said during a press conference at the White House. "We're going to make it safe; we're going to make it smart; we're going to make it beautiful."

Assurance IQ, LLC and MediaAlpha, Inc. will pay a total of $145 million to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that they misled millions of consumers seeking to buy comprehensive health insurance. In two separate actions, the FTC alleged that both Assurance and MediaAlpha deceived consumers and led them to purchase plans that did not provide the promised health care coverage, and bombarded consumers with telemarketing and robocalls.

Meeker, Colo. – The Twelve fire was reported the afternoon of August 6th at approximately 3:00PM and is burning roughly 18 miles west of Maybell, CO between Elk Springs and the Deer Lodge Park Road.
As of 11:30 a.m. today, the fire is currently 4,287 acres in size, 2817 acre on private, 670 acres State and 800 acres BLM lands managed by the Little Snake Field Office. The fire is burning in pinyon, juniper, grass and brush. The fire is still active due to dry fuels, warm temperatures and gusty winds. The fire spread rapidly from the US Highway 40 corridor towards the Deer Lodge Park Road.
