OSHKOSH, WISCONSIN — A new Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rule to remove outdated regulations that have impeded innovation and safety in the growing recreational Light Sport aviation sector has been made, according to U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy.
"I can’t think of a better place than at the largest general aviation airshow in the U.S. to announce that we’re unleashing American ingenuity. This new rule will promote better designs, safer materials, and upgraded technology in the recreational aviation sector," said U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy. "Our recreational pilots and plane manufacturers have correctly noted outdated regulations were inhibiting innovation and safety. No more. Let’s bring this industry into a new age!"

At the Federal Trade Commission’s request, a federal court has temporarily halted an alleged debt relief services scheme that targeted seniors, including veterans, using a wide range of deceptive conduct, including falsely impersonating consumers’ banks and credit card companies as well as government agencies.

WASHINGTON — The Department of Veterans Affairs will soon propose a rule to extend Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers eligibility for certain Veterans and their family caregivers through Sept. 30, 2028.
The new rule will extend program eligibility for legacy participants, legacy applicants and their family caregivers for three years while VA continues the rulemaking process to refine the program. The extension will ensure that legacy participants and applicants can maintain their benefits and stability during this time.

WASHINGTON - U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Scott Turner announced the availability of federal disaster assistance to the State of Iowa to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by the severe winter storm on March 19, 2025.

The Department of Defense has begun reviewing applications by DoD personnel for payments pursuant to the Helping American Victims Afflicted by Neurological Attacks Act of 2021 (HAVANA Act).
Under the HAVANA Act, DoD employees and their covered dependents who suffered qualifying brain injuries on or after January 1, 2016, in connection with certain Anomalous Health Incidents (AHI), are eligible for a one-time payment. The Department is committed to helping DoD personnel affected by AHIs.

WASHINGTON, DC — The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) a significant policy shift to restore compliance with federal law and ensure that taxpayer-funded program benefits intended for the American people are not diverted to subsidize illegal aliens.
HHS has formally rescinded a 1998 interpretation of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA), issued during the Clinton Administration, which improperly extended certain federal public benefits to illegal aliens.
